We get this question constantly: "I scored 230 in JAMB, can I still study Engineering at UNILAG?" In UNILAG's aggregate formula, every 8 marks in JAMB is worth 1% of your aggregate. But every 1.33 marks in the Post-UTME is worth 1% — that means 0.75% per single correct question. If Candidate A scores 280 in JAMB (35%) and 25/40 in Post UTME (18.75%), aggregate = 53.75%. If Candidate B scores 240 in JAMB (30%) and 33/40 in Post UTME (24.75%), aggregate = 54.75%. Candidate B has a higher aggregate despite scoring 40 marks lower in JAMB! The Post UTME is the ultimate tiebreaker.
